The club will be resuming regular practices starting Wed. Sept. 4th in Multi-Purpose Room #1 at the new University of Minnesota Rec Center, from 7pm – 9pm. The new schedule is listed on the header of this blog, but just for redundancy here it is:

Mondays: 7pm – 9pm
Wednesdays: 7pm – 9pm
Saturdays: 10am – 12pm

Hope to see everyone there!

The club will be transitioning to a new home in the new Rec Sports Facility on the University of MN campus. During this time we ask that anyone interested in coming to practice email the club to find out when and where practices will be held, as they are in flux until this transition is finished. After the transition, practice times and locations will be updated on this page. Thank you for your patience!

As part of our annual Fall Seminar, officiated by Okimura Shihan, (7th Dan Director of World Aikido Aikikai, Incorporated) we will celebrate 40 years of Aikido on the UofMN Campus. In approximately one month, April 24th & 25th, Okimura Shihan will conduct the annual O-Sensei Memorial Seminar at his dojo in Newark, DE. This Seminar is held as a sort of “Homecoming” for all of the Federation Instructors. Anyone is welcome, however, as it is a time to reflect and pay respects to Morihei Ueshiba, O-Sensei, the Founder of Aikido.  Besides Seminar classes and advanced tests, there is a dinner held at the dojo – a great chance to meet and establish friendships with our fellow Federation members.  Riley Sensei will be attending, as he has for the past 4 Memorial Seminars. It is an especially good time to observe Dan grade testing, and to enjoy Q & A sessions with Okimura Shihan.
