Aikido Club T-Shirts

We will have T-shirts for the Aikido Club which will be $15 each. They are longsleeve 100% preshrunk cotton shirts. There is a choice of black or navy for the color.

Fall Activities Fair

The Aikido club is signed up to participate in the Fall Activities Fair. We need enough volunteers to have at least one person at the table at all times. Anyone interested should contact John Rudi at rudix001@umn.edu.

The times and locations we’ll be at the activites fair are:

Tuesday, Sept. 16: 10am-2pm (CMU Front Plaza, Minneapolis)
Monday, Sept. 22: 10am-2pm (SPSC Front Terrace, St. Paul)

Seminar Organization Meeting Saturday Sep 6

Class at the Armory is cancelled on Saturday September 6. Instead, we will attend class at the Aikido of Minnesota dojo at 8:00 am. Afterwards, there will be a meeting to discuss and organize the upcoming October seminar.

JSA Orientation Tuesday Aug 26

The Japanese Student Association is having an orientation meeting on Tuesday August 26 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.  The meeting will be held at the Carlson School of Management room L-126.  The Aikido Club has been asked to come and talk about our art. 

If you’re interested in participating, we’re going to meet at 3:45 at the westbound bus stop north of Coffman Union, then take the Campus Connector over to the West Bank. 

After the meeting, we’ll head back to the East Bank for practice.

Grand Marais Seminar!

Members of the U of M Aikido Club will be traveling to Grand Marais, MN, this weekend (Aug. 15 – 17) to participate in the Grand Marais dojo’s 15th anniversary seminar. Pictures will be posted following the trip.

Spring Seminar May 31 – June 1

Okimura Shihan will be in town conducting our Spring Seminar at the University of Minnesota Armory on Saturday May 31 through Sunday June 1.  Please refer to our flyer for class times, directions, and registration information.

Feeling Great in ‘08!

Come watch our club perform demonstrations at Feeling Great in ‘08on February 22! We will be at the event, which is held in the Rec Center, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, giving 15-20 minute Aikido demos. This is a great way to see what Aikido is all about and come talk to some of our current members!

Prep for Spring Activities Fair

After practice (11:30 am) on Saturday February 2, we will meet over brunch to prepare materials for the Spring Activities Fair the following week.  Please come and help if you can!  Location TBA.
